It take to me to long that I will enjoy historical book. This book is spectacular. The Mix of historical romance, Victorian London, steampunk, fantasy, action, and fantastic characters.

First off, Im a big Cassandra Clare fan and I LOVE her Mortal Instruments series, and naturally if you are a Cassandra Clare fan then you either have already read or currently reading the infernal devices series. When I picked up Clock work Angel and Clockwork prince, I thought I was going to love this series like I do with the mortal instruments. I was mistaken. Although I do LIKE this series,so far,I dont love it like I love the Mortal Instruments. When I picked up Clock work Angel and Clockwork prince, I thought I was going to love this series like I do with the mortal instruments. I was mistaken. Although I do LIKE this series,so far,I dont love it like I love the Mortal Instruments. The book was hard for me to read because of the time frame it was in, paired with the fact that I was coming off a Mortal Instruments high, having just read City of Fallen Angels.I found Clockwork Angel slow,but then again also found City of Bones slow, and look how I fell in love with that series...... Maybe I just need time, but I will be continuing with the series.NOW FOR THE ACTUAL REVIEW.......
I enjoyed this book and I enjoyed most of the characters in it{except for jessamine, but we will get to that later}. The story starts out with Tessa getting off a boat from America, and she has just arrived in Victorian London, in 1878. Her brother has sent her a ticket as her aunt had died and she had nowhere to go. As she gets off the ship, turns out her brother is not there. Instead there are the Dark sisters, two incredibly creepy ladies. Tessa{Theresa}is suprised that her brother is not there but she trusts that he would never bring any harm upon her and she agree to leave with the two creepy ladies.FAST FORWORD six weeks and Tessa is trapped in the Dark sisters house and is forced to transform into different dead people everyday.Anyways she did not stay kidnapped for long after the first chapter as dashing and charming Will swoops in and saves the day{note the sarcasm}. I just thought the way he came into the story was completely rushed and random,so not the way that she introduced Jace in the Mortal Instruments.Will, at first, very much reminded me of Jace, though as I got further along in the book I realized he was more of an extreme version of Jace. Jace is rude, but he has got nothing on Will and for a minute, I found myself liking Will more than Jace. One of the main differences between the two is that Will is more reserved and wants the whole world to think that he is a bad guy, while Jace wants to convince himself that he is good enough.I definately fund myself liking Tessa more than Clary. Tessa, to me, is a less whiny, less lovestruck version of Clary and she is very strong whereas Clary can sometimes come off weak, especially when it has to do with Jace.Will and Tessa are not like that. This book is not especially romantic, so if anyone is looking to read about the love triangle aspect of the trilogy, skip to Clockwork Prince.SPOILER, Will and Tessa only kissed like twice.So after they escape the dark sisters house, Will takes her back to the London institute, there we meet Sophie,Jem {James},Jessamine,Charlotte,Thomas,and Charlotte husband Henrey{love him}. BRIEF SIDENOTE, what i love about Henrey as a character is that he is smart. Everyone thinks his inventions are stupid and are eventually gonna fail, but he is the one that invented the sensor that they use all the time in the Mortal Instruments.I also really liked Charlotte, she is so headstrong and confident, I found her inspiring.Who I did not like was Jessamine. At first I thought she was the Izzy in this book, but boy was I suprised. Jessamine is stuck up and she is all like" Im so much better than everyone else and i hate being a Shadowhunter. I much rather be out looking for a husband". and blah blah blah.It never ends with her.One of the last thing I Liked about the book besides the characters were the suprising twists. Some of the stuff that happened, I did not see coming, so that is always a plus.And I LOVED, LOVED,LOVED Magnus Bane in this book.Overall I enjoyed this book, and hopefully with the next book,Clockwork Prince, I can rate it a 5 out of 5. ...more

I seriously wanted to stalk the guy on the cover, but couldn't find anything on the internet. I admit to being a creep, but did you see the cover?! Anyways, I loved this book more than I love icecream, and thats A LOT! I can't find anything like it though, so any recommendations? I love Jem, but I also love Will.
