In my childhood I was a great fan, and in my twenties I somehow started disliking Holmes.
Glad to say that now I have again rekindled my fandom, thanks to Stephen Fry.
Immensely enjoyed this collection and am now finding Holmes more human than ever.
Would highly recommend this to anyone.
Also changing my previous 4 stars to 5.

Conan Doyle got sick of writing about Sherlock Holmes at some point, and I felt that this had some consequences for the stories in The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes. Some of the resolutions of these mysteries were either too obvious or too obscure, missing the thrilling sweet spot of the unexpected. I did enjoy reading the introduction to Mycroft and Moriarty, two famous side characters from the Holmes universe.
