It has been over two years since I last read The Picture of Dorian Gray, yet it has not lost any of its luster in the meantime. The story of the young, vain, and impressionable Dorian Gray and his corruption at the hands of Lord Henry is fascinating still.

I read this for the first time a few years back and I have to say that I liked it marginally better upon my reread.
All in all it is a classic that is easy to read, if one only skims over the chapter cataloguing Dorian's interests and collections. The boy sure does like a lot of fancy things but the lengthy description of them did not interest me very much.
So if you haven't read it, I think you should.

To be honest I'm not even near eloquent enough to do The Picture of Dorian Gray justice. It is a wonderful book containing spot-on descriptions and commentary of life of the upper class during the nineteenth century.

Unspoiled and pure Dorian Gray becomes acquainted with Lord Henry through painter Basil Hallward. The Picture of Dorian Gray describes Dorian's journey into the darkest side of his soul under the influence of Lord Henry.
