I don't even know where to start with this review except to say this book swallowed me whole. I made the mistake of reading it too quickly, in less than a week, and therefore I allowed it to consume every corner of my mind. I decided this morning I needed to finish the last one hundred pages in order to free myself, since I'd been dreaming about the book, three nights in a row.

Great book about people in the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. Characters confront the choice to be good or evil.

East of Eden is another of those classics that I wish I had read long ago! I loved this book. I thought Steinbeck bordered on brilliance in this novel. While some may find the novel overly-sermonizing, I found the message deep and profound. Characters in the novel will remain with me for a long time. I will be making sure to read more Steinbeck novels. He is clearly one of the greatest American authors!
