This is just the kind of book I love! Women featured as major characters, domestic settings, historical period and comedy!
The woman telling the story is so kind and gentle with how she loves these older women.

Such a sweet and funny little book. I really enjoyed the glimpse into the lives of these ladies of Cranford. Despite not having a clear plot, the book was rich in character development. I loved the wit and humor of the narrator as she tells of her little social circle. I wasn't sure I would like it when I started it, but by the end I was absolutely in love with the characters and their simple yet unexpectedly interesting lives. ...more
