Maybe it's because I read Tolstoy before this, but this book was lacking in the detail department--like Conrad just didn't have the time or energy to actually commit the story to paper. At least it was a quick read. ...more

I recently listened to the Audible, audiobook version narrated by Kenneth Branagh, who did justice to this compelling story.
