What Members Thought

The book keeps the good parts of Foundation and fixes some bad parts. I disliked a plot jumping at Foundation, the book has only one big jump. However the book cheat us with time schedule. A decline should take a thousand years, but the book describes only three hundred years. I think, it is a good trade :) The book still has some characters that you don’t care. Asimov’s writing style is quite strange. I often had a feeling that I read 26 short stories. I think some links between chapters cloud

I believe Isaac Asimov is Jules Verne of XXth century. He has the same clear and marvelous style of writing and the same imagination and mixture of futuristic technologies with ancient or medieval elements. For example although the action is placed far in the future when mankind has colonized most of the galaxy, there are kingdoms on some planetary systems. Of course this gives a special charm to the Foundation series of Asimov.
