I have never been more disappointed with a series as I was in The Vampire Diaries: The Return. I absolutely loved the original 4 books of The Vampire Diaries. I have read them over and over and over again over the last 20 years. When the new series came out, I was worried. It took me a long time to read them because I was so worried about them not standing up to the originals. And sadly, I had every reason to worry. These books were borderline schizophrenic. This novel is wonderful with unforseen twists and turns, and such vivid descriptions I could picture the area, city, etc. in my mind down to the smallest detail. There's many wonderful scenes of terror, suspense, heartbreak, being torn, fights, and so on. I couldn't put this book down to save my life, it's just that wonderful. Anyone who likes vampires and love stories will absolutely love this book.
