Shelves: mysteries
A true 2.5 stars. A suspenseful, easy read that started strong and then required a bit too much suspension of disbelief as the story progressed. The writing was fine, but not great. Could have used better editing for grammar, repetitive phrasing, and accuracy—for example, an offhand reference to ice fishing in Lake Washington completely took me out of the book for a bit. :) But a solid classic vacation read.

As an aside, I’m enjoying the Apple TV adaptation, and see what Reese Witherspoon saw in ...more
