Honestly, I’m not sure what is appealing about this book. I was bored and found it overall lackluster. I kept listening to see what others liked about it - but I never found that ah-ha moment in this book.

This novel shows how writers are exploited and pressured to write the next best-selling novel. It highlights race, gender, and sexual orientation as a factor in the success of the author. How much of this is true? I don't know but I did enjoy reading about the publishing and marketing of a novel.
