I read this with my eight year old. I have tried several times to read The Hobbit and have always failed to stay interested. But my son was so excited I was able to make it all the way through. We had fun reading of the adventure. But it isn't my type of genre. Good writing, a but cumbersome to read aloud at times. But it also reveals how simply most books are written now . ...more
