DNF at some 60 pages
I was looking forward reading this. Hidden feminism giving powerless women some power.
But - I can't stand the whining. I can't stand the dramatics. I can't stand the stupidity. And there's a definite flavor of marysueity and deus-ex-machinism... a certain feeling of that the heroines won't ever really get into real danger or problems and there is always something convenient happening that will make everything right without them needing to fix it. I enjoyed the story quite a bit. An old apothecary bottle is found in present day but the story is told not only from the present, but also from the woman who owns the apothecary in the 1700s and the young girl she befriends. Lots of secrets and a twist at the end that I didn't see coming. It's an entertaining read.
