What Members Thought

In short, this novel is about regrets. What regrets do you have? What decisions would you change if you could go back and do it all again?

This book has gotten so much hype and while I thought it was good and I wanted to see how it ended I didn't think it was worth the hype. “A beautiful messy struggle.” This line from the book adequately describes this deeply meta-physical, intensely thought-provoking, disturbingly reflective, and wonderfully enjoyable fiction. It takes you on a journey that explores the ordinary and the extraordinary bits of the human condition. And while you may not be ready for this journey, you come away from the book realizing that it was necessary.

I have a particular annoyance with books that were clearly written with the hope they would be picked up for a screenplay. This is one of those books. The quality of the writing is a little weak and focuses more on dialogue and situations where you might find that amusing or funny in a movie, but as a book it falls a little flat. So yeah, interesting concept, but I’ve seen it done better, with better and more engaging writing.
