These two sisters and their reaction to war reaching their home is quite intriguing. Never having experienced war in this manner I am always curious what my reaction would be. I love both viewpoints and in the end both were heroes. I also love the course of their relationship with each other. As people share experiences it will sometimes naturally bring them together as well as help them understand each other's perspectives. I loved this book.
The story was horrifying & sad; what that generation endured, & some lived through, is unimaginable but the authors delivery of the story was amazing.

I didn’t start enjoying this book until I got halfway through it. I was ready to give up on it and then Hannah finally grabbed me.
It was an exciting read for me after that and had me crying at the end. I’m glad I didn’t give up on it.
