These two sisters and their reaction to war reaching their home is quite intriguing. Never having experienced war in this manner I am always curious what my reaction would be. I love both viewpoints and in the end both were heroes. I also love the course of their relationship with each other. As people share experiences it will sometimes naturally bring them together as well as help them understand each other's perspectives. I can't say enough good things about this book. I've enjoyed the other Kristin Hannah books I've read but this is my favorite by far. I won't write a summary, there are already plenty of those. I'll just say there was a tiny twist at the end that broke my heart. This is one I'll reread.

I haven't stayed up till the wee hours of the morning to finish a book in a long time. I could not put this book down. It was both devastating and inspiring.
