I try to read contemporary once in awhile to switch up my reading Genre from time to time. Heard good tell-all tales on this story of a fictional character that's an actor and about her 7 husbands. What a wonderful surprise! I loved this book so much. Old Hollywood, feminism, sexuality - All topics that draw me in. This was a book I just didn't want to stop reading. I love Evelyn and loved the layers we got to know. Just a wonderful book.

I loved this story! It’s one of those novels where I feel sad letting it go, or rather, letting Evelyn go.
Evelyn Hugo is a rising star in Hollywood during the 50s and 60s who is a determined woman willing to do whatever it takes to achieve fame and money. Turns out the truth of it is more than meets the eye. Her story, including her 7 marriages, was so engrossing that I read this one in 2 days.
