What Members Thought

When this book was selected for book club and I heard the description, my first thought was, "How boring." Reading numerous mixed reviews on it merely reinforced my hesitation to read it.
Then I bit the bullet, started reading it, and basically didn't stop until I was finished. I blew through this one in a few hours, stopping only to sleep and, like, take care of my daughter.

As a woman who was around in the 80’s , I don’t think I was the intended audience for this book. It was certainly interesting, I enjoyed many of the 80’s references, and it did get better as it went on, but I just don’t know many people my age who are anywhere as close to revering video games as the characters in this book. I originally re-read this book in order to prepare for Ready Player Two, but now I'm not even sure I'm going to read it (since the reviews for that book is so bad). I really enjoyed reading this book again, but I also realized how much different it is for the movie. I mean...wow. LOL!
