WOW!!! What an awesome writer Celeste Ng is. I am right away going to get her first book she wrote because I love the way she writes. She is descriptive but not so overly descriptive that it's annoying and ridiculous. She wove such a great story and you got to know each and every character so well.

Such good writing. I don't have daughters, but I am one, and also simply as a parent could relate to many of the emotions in this book. I liked this better than Everything I Never Told You, but both display her excellent writing and ability to get inside the lives of families.

An unexpected story, read for the asian author readathon for May 2020.
I was surprised by how invested I got into this book, which turned out to be a modest domestic drama set in a random American town. Two families become intertwined by their childrens' interactions and some local drama. The plot was rather simple and more focused on the familys' lives. I don't have much to say on this except the start of the book was really disorienting in the audio format and I felt lost and confused.
