It's unfortunate that when a good mystery movie is made from a good book because you can only be surprised by one of them, and in this case, it was the 1974 movie I saw first. I did read the book soon after, but although I've seen the movie many times since, I have not re-read the book until now. Well, that was fun! This was the first Agatha Christie book I've ever read, to the best of my recollection, and it was very engaging. The one thing that slowed me down was that Poirot and his pal M. Bouc spoke a wee bit too much French, which I could either ignore or use Google Translate to look up. I definitely did not have it all figured out by the end.
