I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did. It's hard science fiction, so those with a mind for engineering and mathematics will eat it up. But the science is balanced with a wonderful sense of humanity and humor.

I struggled through the first 3/4 of it. It's been a long time since I took physics, so I found the science parts very hard to get through. The non-science parts aren't very well written, but I was very drawn in to the last 1/4 of it or so.

Couldn't even start with this. I'm not counting it in my challenge, didn't read enough of it to not be cheating if I did, but oh my. For the longest time I ignored this book because I assumed it just wasn't anything I would be remotely interested in. But then I kept reading about how funny it was, and how you didn't have to like science fiction or be interested in space or know anything about space-related technology to enjoy it, it was just a fun book for everyone, and the movie was a bonus add

Man, if ever there were a cathartic, humanity-affirming, happy-ending kind of a book to read during a global pandemic, it would be this one. I laughed, I cried, and I don't feel quite as ?!!!?!??!? anymore.

I haven't been on the edge of my seat while reading a book for a long time. This had me on the verge of a heart attack the entire time. I loved it.
