Ahhhhh!!! Squeeeeee!! I haven't had this much fun reading a book in YEARS. This is, by far, my favorite book I've read this year. The mega nerd that I am was rolling in delight at all the references to things I thought others had forgotten. My goodness. I will probably be re-reading this again next year. Ernest Cline also wrote the movie Fanboys, which I loved. Consider me a follower, Cline. Swoon.

Wow! Both dystopian and vintage all at once. If you were a child of the 80's and ever played a video game before and maybe were a bit geeky-rad, this is the best book you'll ever read. I highly recommend this for anyone with young children that wants to get grasp on what the future might look like as it relates to technology. Alot of the technology that is in this book is available now. I t might not be as high tech as in the book, but it is available. The other point, is that the world is

This was such an immersive read! The fact that I finished it in 5 days right after Animal Crossing came out is a testament to how amazing it is. I mean it pulled me away from a game that I’ve been waiting to play for a year.
Not only was it immersive, but it was such a great way to revisit a decade long passed and allow a new generation of people to want to go back and learn about it. It was also a big social commentary about how we as a society choose to escape our reality instead of taking cha ...more
