I took a while to get to this review, because at the end of this book I was blown away, totally left in a zone where I was saying WTF!!!! Everything about this book was amazing. Oh shit....I was not expecting all of that to happen in Lens. God Damn! I am....yeah...I....I don't know. This one is my favorite.

Kidnapping, porn parties, drugs, sex, Russian roulette....

Lens just sucked me in. I didn't want to put it down. There was so much that happened.

This was the most intense, and best IMO, book of Hansen’s yet! Her writing just keeps getting better and better. I had trouble finding a place to take a break because it was just non-stop action and drama from beginning to end. Behind The Lens does differ slightly than Hansen’s previous books because of the graphic erotic content, but what I found refreshing was that these scenes were meaningful and important to the storyline; they weren't used as filler, and they weren't redundant and boring an This was the most intense, and best IMO, book of Hansen’s yet! Her writing just keeps getting better and better. I had trouble finding a place to take a break because it was just non-stop action and drama from beginning to end. Behind The Lens does differ slightly than Hansen’s previous books because of the graphic erotic content, but what I found refreshing was that these scenes were meaningful and important to the storyline; they weren't used as filler, and they weren't redundant and boring and predictable.
What really makes this series though, are the multi-dimensional characters. I’ve gone through a range of different emotions with these characters, and I flip-flop back and forth with some. Regardless of whether I love or hate them, I do so intensely!

(view spoiler)[Sledge and Corey – one of my favorite couples! Best friends as well as lovers - absolutely love both of them! I’m so happy that Sledge was finally able to feel comfortable with his love for Corey and everyone finding out. It was great to watch him stand up to Tama.

Tama - I'm not sure how Hansen does it, but after all Tama has done, I still felt just a teeny-tiny sorry for him after Sledge kicked him out.

Dante, Kara, and Beth – I previously thought Dante was a great character (as well as HOT!), but by the end of this book, I couldn’t stand him. I didn’t even feel sorry for him after all he went through. He didn't use the right head to think with! I can’t say that I really like either Kara OR Beth, but Dante not knowing which one to choose (newsflash - how about NEITHER?) and going back and forth really grated on my nerves. By the end of the book I despised Kara – a complete psycho and SO annoying! For someone claiming to love Dante the most, she sure didn't show it; she was extremely selfish. Again, even knowing her past and all she’d been through, I hated her – didn’t feel sorry for her at all. Beth was annoying at times, but towards the end, I just felt for the girl. She was second choice to Tiana when she was with Ash, and second choice to Kara with Dante. Poor girl can’t catch a break – always second best. I think if she actually felt loved, maybe she wouldn't be so annoying.

Jade – I thought about lumping him in with the Dante/Kara/Beth group, but I didn't consider it a love quadrangle, because as much as he’d like to be, Jade was never a contender for Dante. I didn’t care for him in the beginning, but became a huge fan of him by the end (and again, I don't know how Hansen does it, because Jade basically stalked Dante - he was a creeper who fell in love/lust with him by watching videos, yet I liked him!). I actually thought that he cared for Dante (obsession or not) more than Kara. I really hope that Corey can introduce him to someone.

Craven and Ant – Great bad guys! Craven finally got what he deserved, and hopefully Ant will as well. He's truly one messed up guy.

Saul – I knew something was up with him. And after that ending (I’m SO over Dante right now grr!), my fingers are crossed that Beth will end up with him. Maybe she’ll finally be someone’s first choice. I'm hoping to learn more about Saul in future books.

Nike - Super mysterious...I'm really wondering what was going on with him.

Ash and Tiana – Not really in the story much, but I liked them together back in Graffiti Heaven, so I’m rooting for them.

Juliet – Not really in the story much either, but I really hope that she can find something to love her. After each book I find myself feeling that way about her - poor unloved Juliet. (hide spoiler)] ...more
