I love a good mystery and a good villain. The villain is the best character in the book in my opinion. If the story were mostly about the mystery, I probably would have rated it higher. I think one of the things that bothered me most about the book was the relationship between Raphael and Elena. Most of the time, they called each other by Consort and Archangel instead of their names. For two people that are supposed to be lovers and soul mates, this was difficult for me to hear.
