**Re-Read** Changed rating from 4 to 5.

This one was a little slow to pull me in, but once it did, I loved it. Elena is fast becoming one of my favorite female characters and Raphael is so sexy and somehow "other". I love the arc of their relationship as it plays out in the story and as Elena learns to be an angel and immortal. The side characters are probably one of Nalini Singh's greatest strengths, and she comes through in this series. And of course her world building is extraordinary. ...more

I have been trying to love this series as much as the Psy-changling series by this author, but after 3 books in it just still isn't completely doing it for me. At the same time, it is enough there for me to want to know what happens, but it isn't an urgent need. Just a mild curiosity that means at some point I will pick up the next book to find out what happens, but not right now.

In the first book I felt like these two had a connection and it seemed effortless. Now it just seems forced at times ...more

I really liked this installment, but it was missing something that kept me from the five-star rating. There is a nice set up for the series...Raphael's mom returning was a fun twist...I can't wait to see what happens with her! ...more
