I am really enjoying this series.

I love Elena and Raphael so much, I also like a lot of the side characters and I hope some of them get their own stories.

I enjoy the world that is being built throughout the series and the dynamics involved with the Archangels, angels, vampires and humans.

This is a great story to get lost in.

I enjoyed how strong Ellie was and how she held her own among the angels. Her past was so traumatic I'm surprised she is as well adjusted as she is. I really felt Raphael's love for her, even though he wasn't always the best at expressing it. ...more

Oh boy..Ms. Singh I know you can write. I can see it in the story, however you seem to find the need to fill the story with a lot of sexual bullshit. Ok I get it, actually I got it in the first book, but I'm ok with a reminder in the second book. I just didn't need the reminder through most of this book. Archangel’s Kiss is the second book in the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh. It picks off right where Angel’s Blood finished. After the fight in Manhattan, that almost killed Raphael and Elena, Elena has been in a coma for a year and now she has woken up. Almost died a human and woken up an angel with wings of midnight and dawn. She is as unique an angel, as she was a human.

Elena is still weak and needs ample rest. With the wings, she’ll have to learn muscle controls all over again. Raphael has gone all protective and caring. Though the archangel’s arrogance knows no bounds, he is still accommodating when it comes to Elena. Like he says, “She makes me a little more human.” The archangel who is a little more human, is the archangel that I love.

Raphael has taken Elena to the Refuge, a place where the angelic kids are brought up. The Refuge is a neutral territory, where there is no greed for power. Or so everyone thought. Somebody is hurting angels and vampires alike, in their quest for power and also stalking Elena, the mate of one of the most feared archangel’s and also an Angel-Made; a one of a kind being. One law that isn’t broken by any angel or archangel is never to hurt the children as they are a gift. But this law is also being broken by the perpetrator. Noe Elena has to find the person responsible for making the Refuge into a war zone.

On the personal front, Elena is battling her past and the nightmares that have comeback and are attacking her with a vengeance . Her past threatens to consume her, but with the help of the archangel she comes out of it every time. We also find out a little about Raphael’s past, who his parents were and what happened to them.

Though she is still walking and talking, Elena is still weak, and it’ll take her quite some time to heal-and take flight. With her relationship with the archangel being very new, she has to figure out a way to retain her individuality, hold her own and keep her archangel. Along with all this this, comes an invite to a ball from Lijuan’s court. Refusing would be a sign of fatal weakness, so Raphael must ready Elena for the flight to Beijing—and to the nightmare that awaits them there. Oldest living creature with an army of the dead, Lijuan is devolving at a rapid rate not to mention that she is a catastrophe waiting to happen. Ancient and without conscience, Lijuan has organised the most vicious welcome for Elena.

In a world completely new to her, Elena has to navigate through it, with the help of her archangel and his trusted band of Seven. In a world where she has no friends, Elena has to hold her own, and prove that she is not weak, and worthy of being her archangel’s consort.

Another great book by Nalini Singh. This was my third read of the book and it still feels like when I read it for the very first time. ...more

It's taken me so long to get truly started on this series for no real reason. i can't believe it's taken me so long since I love Nalini Singh's writing. This was a great book and I love Elena and Raphael together. I adore the fact that she's not a pushover. He's an archangel and is so ridiculously powerful and overbearing. But he doesn't intimidate her and she's not going to let him take over the entirety of her life. They're going to have a partnership whether he wants it or not.

Elena is hunter-born but now also angel-made. Besides needing to physically get stronger and learn how to use her new wings, she also needs to learn how to be an angel in mind. There was more build up than crazy action and I enjoyed that. Just because Elena is now an immortal, doesn't mean she's instantly amazing. I loved the intimacy between Raphael & Elena. It's more than just sexual, though that was steamy enough! Elena's mind is opening more up to her and we get more visuals into her past. C ...more
