What Members Thought

It's set in a Dystopian society in futuristic Chicago selected upon fractions. These fractions are based upon the traits and talents of the individuals that are 16 years of age. But are they really? Do they really have the freedom of "choice" of which fraction they should belong too or is it another form of control based upon how one should think and act.

Now I know what all the hype is about! What a great read! I devoured this one in a day O.o
All the main characters were likeable albeit slightly flawed as a result of their upbringing within their families faction. Even though this was meant to eliminate war, hate, etc. human bias still reared it angry head and people were singled out and made fun of depending on their faction. Ultimately greed takes over.
Can't wait to read the next one!!! ...more

Ms. Roth did an excellent job with the villains, I hate them with every bone in my body. Looking forward to seeing what book 2 brings us! ...more

I watched the movie first and can honestly say it didn't hinder my reading of this book..I actually fell more in love with the story and characters while reading. I've seen the second movie, but not the third..so my plan is to read the second book than the third and watch the movie to compare.
