What Members Thought

I first saw the film and then got the book. So I already knew what was going to happen, when I started reading.
But, I have to say, that there were not only still a few surprises (like Eric's appearnce and Edward). And like most books that get a film it seemed there was more violence in the book. But I really enjoyed it, although I knew the story, which does not happen very often with me.

So after a few weeks think about it I can say: no, I didn't fall in love with Divergent.
The idea behind the plot is quite interesting but I don't think that the author achieved a superb work with it.
For me this book was basically about a girl growing up, with all the strugles to understand who she really is, what she is capable of and where she fits. Unfortunately, I didn't feel a connection with Tris, so in many parts I found her just boring.

I read to page 147 and asked my friends if it get better. I am still on the fence about it so I will go until page 200. I have no clue what it is, so many people are raving about this book and I am sitting in my corner in "meh" land
It is now May and I decided to try this books again. We shall see how it turns out this time.
I will go with my first impression. It was ok, still in "meh" land. Will not be reading the rest fo the series. ...more

The only problem I have is... do all books needs to be about revoliution? Yeah but that's the only problem and it says a lot. Of course that's not Remarque, Jane Austin or Oscar Wilde but I like these kind of books and I like variaty. So yeah. Definitely recommend this one.

I liked the plot of the story and the idea of how it all works but i found myself lost and disoriented by the thoughts of the writer in a few places i would be like .. Huh ??! What just happened?!
But it's a good book fun to read and i think it well make a better movie than the book ..
But hey that's just me ...more
