Thoroughly enjoyed this! I enjoyed the film too. I wouldn’t probably have read this if it hadn’t met the criteria for 3 different reading challenges I’m doing, but I’m so glad I did. It’s 100% YA though, so if you struggle with books for that audience, maybe give it a miss! Dystopia, one of a kind skills,, romance...this story does however morph into a more dystopian, political and dark story towards the end.

I loved this book! I'm glad I already have the sequel to it. This is a great coming of age book that kids would be able to read & commiserate with the teens & having to make decisions about what they'll do when they're at the age of deciding what they really want to do with their lives.
The characters have numerous adult decisions to make, moral dilemmas, romantic involvement, & other great subjects of interest.
Recommended highly for teens & adults alike! Now on to the sequel! ...more

I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this book and I almost gave up after the first chapter because I didn’t like the idea of it, but I convinced myself to keep reading and I’m glad that I did! In order for me to like a book, I have to fall in love with the characters and I did right away with this book. Four/Tobias was one of my favorite characters because he was so mysterious and through out the story I got to learn more and more about him. I loved Tobias and Tris’ relationship, that is most l

A quick read to this dystopia world reminded me of Enclave. The difference being Tris has no training in violence of the faction that she chooses to live her life. The hardest part to believing this world is how quickly she and some of the other transfer factions get to the level of those whom were born within Dauntless. Overlooking that, the character connections, Tris and Four, interact on different levels, student and instructor, first romance awkwardness, are compelling. The fight scenes wri

I don't read a lot of science fiction/dystopia but after watching the trailer for the Divergent movie, I had to read the book (because you should always read the book before seeing the movie). Divergent did not disappoint. The book was even better than I thought from the movie trailer. I love the characters, the setting, and the premise of a world where the people are divided into groups and have to think, feel, and believe in accordance with that group.

I seriously loved this book! When I first heard the premise of the book, I thought it was just another version of the Hunger Games. After hearing from others that they liked the story, I though t I would give it a try. I ended up loving it. It's a story about a personal journey and learning to be honest and accepting of yourself. Yay, there's action and romance that juice up the story, but I like where the overall premise of the story is going. Definitely give it a shot.

This was another well done book. I liked the story, and the characters. I am looking forward to reading the next one in this series.
