Short Review:
I really should have gotten around to reading this sooner. It's from 2001 for goddess sake!
I connected to the MC, Melinda. I hated high school and had to deal with being one of the not so popular kids, and i felt like i could've written some of this myself!
There is some major triggers in this book thou, i didn't know about it in advance, so i was taken by surprise a little bit.
Overall, a good quick read :) ...more

This book was such an emotional rollercoaster for me. At first we know something bad has happened, but we don't know what. Melinda is a social outcast in high school. She has no friends an she's being bullied. She has lost her voice. Slowly the story reveals itself. Such a good book!

What a book!! Fantastic novel about a girl's turmoil as a result of rape. Beautifully written. Though-provoking. I was brought to tears.
