I think what made me fall head-over-heels in love with this book in the first place was that Maas has a beautiful way with words....expressing things I've thought myself, and then there it is on the page. Like when Rhys says, "Be glad of your human heart, Feyre. Pity those who don't feel anything at all."

1/3 Cinderella, 1/3 Beauty and the Beast, 1/3 Hades and Persephone.

It started off slow but when it picked up it really picked up so that is why it gets four stars instead of three. Really like the characters and am interested to see what is next for them.

This started off really interestingly , but then started to drag out in the middle.... Then the last third of the book picked up again - but picked up to that extent that I then felt rushed through a bunch of seemingly important events. The tasks that Fayre had to complete were a little silly and too simply solved (even though they seemed impossible!) ... Just finished "A Court of Thorns and Roses" by Sarah J. Maas. After DNFing this book last year I gave it another shot and I loved it. My favorite character was Lucien by far. He's so sarcastic and funny. Feyre was OK, annoying at times but I have to admit she was kick ass at times. I liked her more than I thought I would. I loved Tamlin as a character and love interest. He was sweet, kind and protective, which I liked. Rhysand was a jerk for most of the book but he did get better towards the las ...more
