Wow, I haven't rated a book so high in a long time. I really enjoyed this book and it is possibly one of my favourite fantasy books I've read this year.
But that doesn't mean it was perfect.
One of my main reasons for the said statement above is that I didn't particularly like the characters. Alina I found to be a bit brattish and wimpy and constantly making me cringe. But I'm not going to hold that against her just yet because the trilogy isn't over and she might just go through some c ...more

Reread.
It’s interesting to see just how much of a person’s reading taste changes in a year.
When I first read this I remember feeling hooked and well immersed into the story. I loved the characters, I loved the world and I loved the plot.
Now? *sigh*
I sometimes laughed when reading parts of the book that were either incredibly tropey, boring/slow or just really underdeveloped because I cannot believe how I missed or totally ignored them because these parts are frequent throughout the whole novel.

I read this book in two days that is how much I loved it. It was a good pace to me, it wasn't to fast or slow. I liked the story line and the characters. They all worked good together and fit with the story line. Alina was a great heroin and ended being a awesome kick ass heroin. As for Mal I hated him in the beginning but in the end he redeemed himself. I don't know what to think of The Darkling. I still have mixed feels about him. A part of me wants him to be good but the other parts loves him

It says that the 63 pages I read at the end were read the 8th, but it was over midnight so it is the 9th. It just annoyed me ahahaha

As much as I loved this book it just kept reminding me so much of Shatter Me. The evil guy who's obsessed with the protagonist. The old and best friend of the protagonist who also loves her. EXACTLY Like Shatter Me's sad love triangle. Shadow and Bone was such a unique story, and I wish I read it before I read the Six of Crows duology. Six of Crows would've made more sense and also I recognized some characters, like Genya and Zoya. Either way, I loved this book. I can't wait to carry on with the

mayhaps i loved this

I went into this book not knowing too much about it. And while I enjoyed the concept of the book, I wasn't entirely invested in it from the beginning. This book repeats a lot of tropes that are repeated often in YA - chosen one, girl who thinks she's unattractive but isn't, makeover scene, male BFF, (view spoiler) and so on. And while I don't mind seeing these on their own (or in a way that's different than usual), this book featured many of them at once. I
