This was better than I thought it would be. I hated The Kite Runner, so naturally I assumed this would be just as bad for me. This story was more enjoyable though, there were less predictable twists in this story and more interesting story lines. The characters were confusing in the beginning of the novel though. Part One is all about Mariam. Part two is all about Laila. Part three has a combination of them, which is what I had expected from the beginning and would have possibly made the story e
