Fangirl is a coming of age story about 2 twins - Cath and Wren - who are just about to go off to college. Up until this point in their lives they have done everything together and were rarely apart, kind of like each other's shadows. To Caths dismay Wren decides that she would like them to live more separate lives at university, and that includes not being each others roommates. Cath suffers social anxiety and is more interested in writing fanfiction - Simon Snow, loosely based on Harry Potter -

"There was a boy in her room. Cath looked up at the number painted on the door, then down at the room assignment in her hand. Pound Hall, 913."
So, I devoured this book. I've had Fangirl for a really long time because I absolutely adored Eleanor and Park but I've been putting off reading this one. I'm not entirely sure why that is but I definitely wish I had read this sooner. Mainly because Cath is quite a bit like me in the way that she thinks and her perspective, and the things that she happe ...more

Boy am I proud of my younger self. Usually when I skim through my old ratings the most common thought ringing through my head is what were you thinking??? But I loved Fangirl then, and I definitely still love it now. Maybe even more.

Pre-re-read
I don't normally like to re-read books but life is being a bitch atm and there's a little voice in my head that is telling me to read this book.
So I listen to that voice.

I loved this book. There isn`t much to complain about except I wish the ending wasn`t so open. It was really great and I want to just reread it a thousand times over.

"I'm just really active in the fandom."
"What the fuck is 'the fandom'?"
I really enjoyed reading this, especially as a fellow fangirl. This novel does not revolve around being a fangirl, it is a big part of it, but it mostly revolves around Cath, the main character, going off to college.
The characters in the story were very well developed. I related a lot to Catch's character. And it was a very easy and quick read.
