As with many of Moore's books, this was a fun fantasy read with dark humor and plenty of literary and historical allusions. The main plot focuses on Travis, who is now 90 years old but looks in his 20s due to his unfortunate "mastery" over the demon, Catch. Travis accidently summons Catch by reading a mysterious incantation in seminary. The rest of his life, he travels with Catch, trying to minimize the demon's destructive effects on people (Catch really likes to eat people) and also trying to t

An excellent example of Moore's humour and enjoyable. Not my favourite of his books, but I think that might be because this was his first one, and possibly he was still gaining his voice. ...more
Not Moore's best, but enjoyable nonetheless and a fun treat for Rivera fans.
