To be honest, I am not sure what I thought of this book. I enjoyed it enough to finish it. I really enjoyed the beginning when the narrator is living in the wilderness in a Lapp hut in Norway, sharing the space with a mouse (whom he calls Madame). Unfortunately, this beginning doesn't last long, because the weather becomes warmer and he moves to a resort, where we meet several other people. The narrator focuses on just a few of the people and he does so for the rest of the book.
