Totally engrossing, loved the setting, could almost feel the humidity and hear the mosquitos buzzing. Couldn't wait to sit down and keep reading, my kinda book.

Not the most creative storyline, but Barr sets the scene beautifully and develops some compelling characters. Her descriptions of the Natchez Trace are so vivid that you can feel the heavy humidity around you as you read.
