If it would be possible to give a book 6 stars, this one would have it. I loved it and I could not stop reading it. It is a mystery set in London, featuring a private detective known as Strike, who is an injured ex-military man, living in his office, and trying to make a go of it. He needs a temporary office worker to be his secretary for a week, even though he can no longer afford one, and Robin, who works for a temp service, takes the job.
