Distinctly different than Moore's previous work with its grounding in history and one of the art world's most influential movements, but suffused with the wit and tongue-in-cheek style he's know for. In a way, I feel like Moore is doing something here that I wish more authors of historical fiction would do - show historical figures as the sometimes silly, sometimes funny, sometimes irreverent people they must have been.
