A deeply intriguing premise and a narrator that delivers on the promise - I find a lot of the ideas Winters explores here to be thought-provoking and interesting. He ended up taking the story in a slightly more conventional direction than I anticipated from the setup, but still a good ride.

This book got under my skin and it’s going to stay with me for a long time. On the surface, it’s a murder mystery, with an interesting detective. Detective Palace is the only person convinced that this was a murder, almost all of his coworkers are convinced it’s just another suicide. Suicides are on the rise because in six months a gigantic comet is going to slam into Earth, possibly ending life as we know it.

Prompt: A book with an image of a source of light on the cover

So-so storyline as a crime mystery but the apocalyptic premise makes for interesting reading given the pandemic. Am I a masochist for reading it at this time? Coz I think I'm a bucket lister but the book seems to be right in that I'll be disappointed because a bucket list completion requires employees.

Interesting scenario, a page turner set in the 6 months before a meteor takes out earth as we know it.
