Midway point: It's an odd read for me b/c I know a lot of the basic storyline from the TV show, which I liked, but I find Stephen King's writing to be good enough that it adds something different to read the story, even if I know what's coming. Johnny's condition reads creepier than it seemed on television, which is a testament to good books, since you'd think TV has all the power here, with special effects and so on.

Johnny Smith is put into a coma after a horrible car accident. He awakens after four and a half years to discover that by touching people he can get psychic flashes into events that have or will occur in the peoples lives. Johnny is treated oddly by most people and when he becomes aware of a terrible event that will occur if he doesn't intervene Johnny has to decide what to do. Fun, but ultimately fairly forgettable, novel. I think focusing on one plot line, rather than the three, in greater detail would have been more interesting and fulfilling read.
