A deserved finalist in the Montana book awards, this book is carefully crafted, finely observed, and very funny at times. I found it refreshing to be reading a kiwi book and to come across references to everyday things that just aren't in books by authors from other countries. Perhaps I need to read more kiwi literature. Because I don't usually. Mea culpa.
