I really loved this book while reading it, even though the main plot line got pretty repetitive toward the end. I was totally immersed in the contempletive meanderings of the protagonist. There were two jarringly unselfconciously/ignorantly racist paragraphs about a 3rd of the way in that really took me out of the moment and then I couldn't get back into it. In spite of that, I would still recommend it to folks who like Nabakov & are interested in love, garbage, Kafka, eastern european history, ...more
