Really enjoying this series because all of the recurring characters are interesting people, I love the British countryside, the writing is smooth and easy to fall into, and the audio narration is well done. In addition, it's a mystery series that has moments of humor and is low on violence.
There's really nothing more I look for from a mystery series than all of this. So I'll definitely be continuing on with it. I'm glad there are many unread volumes left 💙 ...more

Another excellent story in the Ruth Galloway series, this book tells the story of what happens when Ruth helps to discover the mystery of six dead men's skeletons found on a beach. She is just back from giving birth to her daughter Kate, and she is trying to juggle motherhood with her job. Things are even more complicated when the married man who fathered her child is also involved in the investiations. Of course, by the end, Ruth is in danger and the real culprit is a surprise to her.

More of the same from this forensic archaeologist helping the police solve a crime, this time a crime from WW2 which was very intriguing. More of Ruth and Nelson's on-going personal life with a bit of a cliff hanger for the next book. The only thing which spoiled this book was a sub-plot concerning war crimes in former Yugoslavia which I guess was meant to reflect in the case being solved but somehow it didn't work for me.

The Ruth Galloway mysteries series is gentle, character driven as much as anything else, but I enjoy dipping into them from time to time.

The third in this mystery series. I enjoyed the little WWII history lesson, but the mystery itself wasn't too compelling. The interpersonal relationships heated up a little more, and that was compelling, so I'm up for reading the next book.
