Nanosynergy
Too many pages on her personal life. Seemed like filler as the mystery could not occupy enough pages. And not buying hypnotism. The murder itself, however, seemed inventive.

A jolly fun romp, made even more fun by picturing the brilliant TV series in my head. The hon. Miss Phryne Fisher is as breezy and clever here as in the series, and her easy ways with taking a young lover are just delightful. The writing is no-nonsense; the period details just enough to conjure up the 1920s without overegging the historical pudding; the found family a treat. The mystery is so-so but it all pootles along nicely, and the Australian setting is a bonus.
