There is little I dislike more in a young adult novel than a clumsy romance, and there is one in this book. The events don't seem to make much sense either, with the intimidating Oberon and mischievous Puck of A Midsummer Night's Dream acting all out of character. Equally irritating is the protagonist's tendency to 'make a deal' with all manner of faeries, dryads, cats and nightclub owners (yes, um) - as if giving up bits of yourself and bargaining your future away would solve the world's proble

This book was good, it had an interesting premise: A world peopled by the characters of Shakespeare's A Midummer Night's Dream, and a young girl trying to find out where she fits in.

Oy. Rave reviews led me to believe this would be awesome. I should know better. This comes from the same school of YA fic as Twilight and City of Bones. Loved those? You'll love this.
