It took me like 9 years to read Member of the Wedding even though I love Carson McCullers because the story is sooo slow, set in the south, in the summer time, and it's about Frankie/F.Jasmine/Frances who is 12 and obsessed with joining the life of her older brother and his bride after they get married. Berenice, the maid/caretaker, said it's the first time she's ever seen anyone fall in love with a wedding.

Volumul este de fapt o colecție de 5 povestiri, iar cea care ar trebui sa atragă atenția este În vara aceea verde. Din păcate, deși începuse bine, nu m-a impresionat. I-am dat 3 steluțe pentru stil și pentru munca autoarei - am înțeles că lucrările sale sunt inspirate din propria viață. Care a fost una destul de tristă. Dar cu siguranță voi mai citi și altceva de la McCullers la un moment dat. Poate nici nu am dat eu peste cartea potrivita.
I hadn't heard of this book until I saw it as part of a list in a web article that contained audiobooks that were must listens. This one is a performance by Susan Sarandon.
