The 12-year-old and I read "Fever 1793" to complement our early modern North America history lesson. I'm a big fan of Laurie Halse Anderson. It's a pleasure to read her work, and we always learn so much from her books. In addition to Laurie Halse Anderson's Seeds of America trilogy, Fever 1793 should be on every middle grade U.S. history reading list. Two thumbs up!

This was the first book on my to-read list that also showed up as available as an audiobook on Bridges. I am listening to books while sewing #my150 masks for for our local hospital (COVID!) and the overlapping of the Philadelphia epidemic and our current pandemic was a little strange sometimes, almost like being caught in a time warp. The writing was good. I knew nothing about the epidemic so I am not sure how historically accurate this book is. I did find information about death count, epidemic
