At the end of Part 1, I was quite disappointed. I picked this one up when I did because I wanted something humorous, but this was more snide than satirical. It picked up in later parts, and I actually really liked the exploration of Bernadette's career (especially the 18 miracles bit).

I am listening to the audio version of this book. I have both print and audio, but the library aide I talk to weekly said that most readers were preferring the audio, so that is what I selected.
I find Audrey so funny because I know women like that who that create drama and go to extremes to deal with others who are different than them.

Bernadette Fox is a reclusive former architect whose husband Elgie works at Microsoft and daughter Bee goes to a private school in Seattle. Bernadette hates basically everyone and is involved in a fight with most of the other mothers at Bee's school. She has turned over most of the chores in her life to an assistant in India. Very enjoyable. Couldn't put it down. It s the kind of book that you would want to take to the beach or on a plane. It's funny, whimsical and well-written. Fast and fun read.
