When I first started reading this book, I was also reading a collection of essays by a woman with schizoaffective disorder that was a serious look at mental illness. It was weird to go back and forth between these two books. Where'd You Go, Bernadette is supposed to be funny, but it was just really hard for me to transition to this tone and see Bernadette as simply an "eccentric" character while also reading such a stark account from another author. I don’t even know if this is 2 stars or 2.5 stars or 3. The beginning was hard rowing, the middle was better, and the end was a letdown. The whole book felt like way too much effort. But there were parts I enjoyed hence the 2.5 stars. Lol
