This is an excellent story about the effects of the Iraq war on one family, a best friend, and a girlfriend. When Ben enlists, he doesn't think he will be sent to a war zone, but he ends up in Iraq. He is the victim of a tank explosion, and although he survives, he is irreparably damaged by what happened.
